Outstanding innovations will be selected by the independent awards jurors to receive special awards conferred by the following renowned international inventors’ associations and organisations. The following are our MTE 2024: Sustainable Development Goals International Innovation Special Awards sponsoring partners.

International Federation Of Inventors Associations (IFIA)

International Federation of Inventors Associations (IFIA) is a nonprofit organization aiming to disseminate the culture of invention and innovation support inventors transfer technology and establish cooperation with the related organizations. IFIA was established in 1968 and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. IFIA convenes over 187 members from 100 countries cooperating devotedly to support innovations and inventors all around the world.

Bentham Science Publishers

Bentham Science is a science, technology, and medical publisher, providing academic researchers and industrial professionals with the latest information in diverse fields of science and technology. Our peer-reviewed scholarly journals and books (under the Bentham Books brand) have an ever-increasing readership of millions of researchers worldwide.

Bentham Science was originally incorporated in the Netherlands. We are now a multinational company based in UAE and have employees in the USA, the Netherlands, Spain, India, and China. Bentham Science also outsources its publishing services to several countries, including the UK, China, and Pakistan.

Chinese Innovation And Invention Society (CIIS)

Chinese Innovation and Invention Society was founded on July 16, 2009, the members of the Society were among the leaders in academic, industrial, and invention fields. The Society is academy-led which provides assistance to potential inventors. It is a nonprofit organization devoted to innovative inventions, and the most active one participating in international affairs. In order to efficiently and effectively expand the competitiveness of Taiwan’s innovative inventions, CIIS annually selected domestic potential and representative innovations and inventions, and form a delegation on behalf of Taiwan’s participation in international invention exhibitions and competitions. CIIS hopes to generate a culture of innovation and invention in Taiwan and to raise Taiwanese patented inventions to international standards in order to strengthen internal patent research and increase Taiwan’s international exposure.

Eurobusiness-haller

Eurobusiness-Haller has been operating in the Polish market since 1990. Eurobusiness-Haller has received awards from many official institutions, such as the Belgian Highest Commission of Awards; the Polish Minister of Economy; Polish Minister of Science. Since 2013, the Pro Inventio Foundation, in cooperation with Eurobusiness – Haller company, organizes the participation of Polish inventors in many exhibitions, like Concours Lepine in Paris, Euroinvent in Romania, iCan in Canada, KIDE in Taiwan or their own Polish exhibition, INTARG. The Foundation’s mission is to promote Polish science and inventions, both in Poland and abroad, as well as to support creativity among young people.

Indonesian Invention and Innovation Promotion Association (INNOPA)

Indonesian Invention and Innovation Promotion Association (INNOPA) is an association that concerns with the development and promotion of innovation in Indonesia. Our aim is to help and link Indonesian innovators to show their innovative ideas or products at the International level. INNOPA has more than 400 members coming from various schools, universities, institutions, and companies around Indonesia.

International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE)

The International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering is a not-for-profit association serving its Members by leading scientific, technical, and regulatory advancement throughout the entire pharmaceutical lifecycle.ISPE is committed to the advancement of the educational and technical efficiency of its members through forums for the exchange of ideas and practical experience.

ISPE was founded in 1980 by a handful of people who believed the pharmaceutical industry needed an organization that would deal with practical applications of science and technology for technical professionals. The much-needed forum provided by ISPE began with a Membership of engineers in North America. In time, ISPE Membership expanded beyond engineering to include a broad representation from pharmaceutical professionals.

National Research Council Of Thailand (NRCT)

The National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) is a Thai government organization that reports to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation. One of the responsibilities is adopting a research policy and promoting invention and innovation of the country. With the responsibility for promoting invention and innovation, NRCT is a representative of Thailand to select the outstanding invention and innovations from Thailand to exhibit in various international exhibitions.

We have also been organizing “Thailand Inventors’ Day” and the international pavilion which is known as “Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition (IPITEx)” for all Thai and international inventors to exhibit the potential and attractive invention and innovation and to create networking opportunities among Thai and overseas participants.

The International Alliance of Innovation and Invention Associations (IAIA)

Composed of 26 invention organizations and associations, the International Alliance of Innovation and Invention Associations (IAIA) is an extensive matching and exchange platform for international innovations and inventions. Membership comprises individuals from internationally renowned academic institutions, organizations and corporations, and individual inventors. The mission of the IAIA is to provide a voluntarily transparent, open, and fair channel for promoting creative and innovative ideas via international exhibitions, academic exchanges, and patent technology coordination. With the joint efforts of international academia and corporations and individuals who are interested in inventions, products, and technologies can be launched into the global markets through implementation and market mechanism testing. As such, more potential talents and innovative inventions can be realized. Moreover, the simplified process, added value and mutual benefit will ensure the opportunity for fulfilling talents.

Malaysian Association of Creativity & Innovation (MACRI)

The Malaysian Association of Creativity & Innovation (MACRI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and championing Creativity and Innovation. It was established by people passionate about the spirit of Creativity and determined to nurture the culture of Innovation. Simply put, MACRI is driven by a network of creative thinkers and innovators, bonded by a common aspiration.MACRI believes that Innovation starts from simple ideas. Creativity is hardly the exclusive domain of artists and designers, nor is Innovation meant only for scientists and researchers. We are convinced that each and every individual is creative, or has the potential to be creative, given the right encouragement and training. We recognize that simple ideas too can have a great impact. Hence we adopted ‘Empowering Simple Ideas’ as our tagline to reflect the path to an Innovative society. Simple ideas and initiatives through a concerted effort will be able to germinate a greater pool of Innovations. This is the cornerstone of MACRI’s aspiration.

Macao Innovation & Invention Association (MiiA)

Macao Innovation & Invention Association (MiiA) registered in Macao as a non-profit organization in 2004 under the Society Ordinances with Governmental Approval No. 2411. After 11 years of development, MiiA today has over 60 professional members, including 21 institution members such as the University of Macau, Macau University of Science & Technology, University of Saint Joseph, City University of Macau, Macau Polytechnic Institute and high schools, and, individual members with various career backgrounds such as professors, tutors, doctors, engineers, air pilots and professional workers from different fields. They are dedicated to the development of MiiA and constantly contribute their spare time and their knowledge in science popularization voluntarily for a better future for society.

Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology & Innovation (MRANTI)

Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology & Innovation (MRANTI) is Malaysia’s central research & innovation commercialisation agency that accelerates ideas to market.

National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM)

The National Cancer Society of Malaysia (Persatuan Kanser Kebangsaan Malaysia), (NCSM), is the first not-for-profit cancer organisation in Malaysia that provides education, care and support services for people affected by cancer and the general public.

Established in 1966, we are a tax-exempt charity body registered under the laws of the Malaysian Societies Act and Registrar of Societies Malaysia. The Society is financed entirely by contributions and donations from the public. We provide holistic cancer–related services to cancer patients, caregivers and the public through our six centres – Cancer and Health Screening Clinic, Nuclear Medicine Centre, Resource and Wellness Centre, Quit Smoking Clinic, Children’s Home of Hope and the Adults’ Home of Hope.

National Institutes of Biotechnology Malaysia (NIBM)

National Institutes of Biotechnology Malaysia (NIBM) is a consortium of three national biotechnology institutes – Malaysian Institute of Pharmaceuticals & Nutraceuticals (IPHARM), Agro-Biotechnology Institute Malaysia (ABI), and Malaysia Genome Institute (MGI), established on 27 January 2012 as a Company Limited by Guarantee (CLG), an autonomous not-for-profit entity to administer IPHARM, ABI and MGI.

In 2011, the Cabinet agreed that ABI, IPHARM and MGI be corporatised into a new autonomous not-for-profit body to enable the three institutes to be operated centrally, more effectively and efficiently. The entity is named as the National Institutes of Biotechnology Malaysia (NIBM).

The main objective of NIBM is to enable IPHARM, ABI and MGI to minimise or eliminate government procedural requirements and replaced with a dynamic, fast & efficient decision-making process. Among the roles of NIBM are to set priorities and direction for R&D activities, to plan for commercialization of R&D outputs and to enhance the R&D ecosystem to drive Malaysia into a global biotechnology hub. The management of NIBM will be centralised by Headquarter Office (HQ)

National STEM Association (NSA)

National STEM Association (NSA) exists to empower and equip our children and youth with quality STEM education, in-line with the national agenda in Industrial Revolution (IR) 4.0. Established in 2018 by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Noraini Idris, we are on a mission to promote STEM to all children and youth and to increase the number of enrollments in STEM streams in Malaysia.

Toronto International Society of Innovation & Advanced Skills (TISIAS)

Toronto International Society of Innovation & Advanced Skills (TISIAS) was established in 2013 to build a global hub in Toronto, Canada to provide a variety of services and opportunities for both local and overseas inventors and innovators to promote their inventions and products in the world market. TISIAS is globally active as the delegation of Canada participating in numerous international invention exhibitions and competitions around the world. TISIAS annually organizes the International Invention Innovation Competition in Canada “iCAN” in Toronto where inventors from 70 countries exhibit and promote their inventions and products in Canada while competing for the iCAN Awards.

The Union of Arabian Academics (TUOAA)

The Union of Arabian Academics (TUOAA) is an Arabian Research & innovation Development Institution and Non-Government Organization. We are interested in research and innovation development and communicate with professors, experts, Innovations, inventors, scientists’ individuals or organizations, exchange ideas and experiences in order to consolidate and improve performance in methodology and objectives in the field of scientific research.

We`re based in Sana’a City Yemen on January 8, 2018, and we have a wide Geography range and area of Responsibility that covered all the borders of the Political Geography of the Arab Nation. TUOAA has a full membership of on the International Inventors Association, (IFIA) on 20 March 2018 in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Faculty of Engineering Sciences and Technology at the Autonomous University of Baja California is a leading educational institution in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. Offering diverse engineering programs, it focuses on high-quality education, research, and innovation. Prof. Dato’ Seri Ir. Dr. Abdul Rahman Mohamed, FASc.

Universiti Sains Malaysia

Professor Dato’ Seri Ir. Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Mohamed, FASc, is the Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Sains Malaysia. He was formerly the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research and Innovation. Prof. Abdul Rahman is also a certified Professional Engineer, prominent scholar and researcher. Professor Abdul Rahman attended Maktab Rendah Sains MARA (MRSM) Kulim in Kedah before continuing his studies at the University of Southern California in the USA, where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. Subsequently, he received his Master’s degree and completed his Ph.D. in 1993 in the same field from the University of New Hampshire, USA.

Professor Abdul Rahman began his professional career as a lecturer at the School of Chemical Engineering (SCE), USM in 1993. He was one of the pioneers of the School and served as the Dean of SCE. As an active researcher, his research interests span across the areas of reaction engineering and catalysis, air pollution, wastewater treatment, fuel technology and nanotechnology. His collaboration with international researchers includes those from Osaka University and Nagaoka University of Technology in Japan; and with the University of Lorraine (France) where he has also broadened his research influence.

He has received more than 80 research grants from various national/international organisations, amounting to more than RM25 million and has published more than 600 research papers in international/national journals and conference proceedings with Scopus bibliographic database recorded H–Index of 93 and total citation around 30,656. He has also graduated more than 50 Master’s and PhD students.

As a result of his excellent research achievements, he has received more than 60 national/ international awards, honors and recognitions, viz; Malaysia Toray Science Foundation Award and Top Research Scientists Malaysia (TRSM) (2012); Malaysia’s Rising Star Award (2015); MARA/MRSM Icon (2017) and Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate (2018, 2019 & 2021). Apart from his extensive research work, Professor Abdul Rahman has been instrumental in the success of the University’s cooperation and partnership with the industry. His active involvement in the Collaborative Research in Engineering, Science and Technology Centre (CREST) has seen a boost in collaborative R&D projects between USM and the industry.

At the national level, Professor Abdul Rahman serves as the Technical Advisor for the Public Private Research Network (PPRN) and Evaluation Panel for Translational Research@MOHE under the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia. He is a Field Expert in the Nanotechnology Area and Project Leader of National Graphene Consortium under the National Nanotechnology Centre. As a fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM), he has been appointed by ASM as the Industry Focus Group Leader for the Malaysia Science, Technology, Innovation Master Plan (STIMP) 2020-2030 and recently appointed as Chairman of the Task Force on National Nanotechnology Policy and Strategy (NNPS) 2021-2030.
